"I can't go for that..." - Before Wilder versus Fury

English version      Portuguese version

Wilder and Fury weigh in was so grand as the promise of the fight of this Saturday.

The presence of these distinguished guests elevated the expectations about the greatness of this event: Michael Spinks, James 'Buster' Douglas, Earnie Shavers, George Cooney, Riddick Bowe, Lennox Lewis e Evander Holyfield.

The traditional face-off did not happen. There was some distance face-off. Definitely, there is something real about all this.

The hours before the fight are the longest. Based on the avid spectator's perspective, this time off is harder as we need to come up into the ring. It feels like some youthful sensation. The boy is getting ready to meet a girl for the first time. They had not kissed yet. The long-awaited dating will happen tonight. The anxiety dominates. The thoughts are all about this night.

The man dismisses his girls and simply indicates 'my dear, today I can't, it's a boxing night.' Feeling rejected or, at least, as a secondary option, she schedules the date for Friday. At the end of the date, she exposes some little claim 'since on Saturday, you have to return to your wife... the Boxing... isn't it?'

No doubt, something special will happen on Saturday. The contender, Tyson Fury states that Wilder did not want to be there. The champion, Deontay Wilder cannot wait.
I cannot wait. The boxing, one more time, waits for another raised moment.
